The Bornia Boys, A Blues Band!
or
The Blues meets Italian America, via Hollister & the South Bay!

Why a blues band with the name "Bornia Boys"? Bear with me now… You mix Olive Oil with
the Blues and somethin’ tasty is gonna come outa’ that musical kitchen! Believe that!
The term Bornia is derived from the Italian village Bormida. Its relationship to the blues
is based on the vocalists love for the music (An Italian American who grew up listening
to the Blues), combined with fond childhood memories of 2 brothers from Bormida.
Thus the name Bornia Boys… Got that? Oh nevermind! What's important is that
it’s a great lil' blues band and has (I hesitate to use this word… It’s loaded w/baggage)
a very "Traditional" Chicago Blues sound to it.

We are a 6-piece band consisting of a vocalist, lead/slide guitar, key board’s,
bass, drums, and harmonica’s. The band was originally conceived all in fun,
so we all came up with nicknames. The band was the brain child of
our late beloved friend, & guitarist, John Firman R.I.P. His nickname was
"Slidin’ Slim." After he passed, we almost packed it in, & went our separate ways.
But in memory of "Slim" (it's what he wanted), & because to be honest,
we love it way too much to quit! We decided to pick ourselves back up,
& keep the band going.

We are now very honored, & happy to be playing with our
very talented lead/slide guitarist Chris Berry AKA "The Tone King", Our fearless leader & vocalist
Gene Parodi, AKA "Shindigo" (After one of those brothers), Our keyboard man
Steve Carlino AKA "Our keyboard man", Our bass guitarist/musical arranger extraordinare
Chuck Fike, AKA "Bottom Line". Our illustrious drummer Dave Parodi (Son of Gene)
AKA "Rebound Jr.". & yours truly "Eye Bone" AKA "Blues Bone". It’s a great bunch
of musicians hailing from Hollister & the South Bay that I’m very proud to share the stage with!
Also trust me! The musical chemistry is there as well!

Well that doesn’t really begin to cover what we could say about this band, but it will do
for starters. Please come on out and see us for yourself… that would certainly be much better
then any showy P.T. Barnumesc phrase turnings I could trowel onto this web page, anyway!

Hope to see you at a gig!
